Now, free from Adobe: Kuler!

December 14, 2006

No, you’re not dreaming, Adobe have created a free service! And, for lack of a better word, it’s cool! It’s called Kuler and it is a great resource for designers in putting together colour schemes. You can select from a huge range of existing schemes or create your own. When creating your own, first select a base colour in the first colour swatch and then select a rule for selecting four additional colours: for example, analogous, complementary, or compound. You can then manually adjust each colour either in the colour wheel or below each swatch. When you are happy with your scheme your can save it and publish it. I can see that I am going to be making use of this handy tool for my next design! Hopefully there’ll be more great, free stuff coming out of Adobe Labs.
