What would your grammar think? Book Review

14 Jun

I’ve always enjoyed writing, and being a person who likes to do things the right way, I have always been a bit of a stickler for correct spelling and grammar (if you find any in this blog, don’t laugh it was probably a typo :P ). So when the book Eats, Shoots and Leaves was released, I was intrigued to the point of purchasing it. It’s quite a comical read and contains many examples of horrendous grammatical errors (particularly around misplaced punctuation). It’s not a grammar guide but it does lay down the basic rules of use of apostrophes, commas, full stops, semi-colons and colons. It also brings those (like me) who haven’t kept up with the times in to the 21st century of grammar and highlights a few new rules. So, a good read and I recommend it to anyone who writes for public consumption. :D
